		<description>I didn’t know about this Californian right turn on red “rule”. I’m pretty sure I break the law when I use the pedestrian crossing button to cross a high-trafficked road on my bike. On the other hand it’s so much safer it’s worth the risk!</description>

		<description>Traffic lights apply to bikes just as much as to any other vehicle (or &quot;participant in traffic&quot;). And running red lights is all the more dangerous the less protected you are - I wouldn&#039;t want to risk it with a bike, ever. Driving my car, there have been enough situations where some bicyclist or another almost got knocked over for being totally oblivious to traffic rules.</description>

		<description>Actually it is only in California that you can make a right turn on red... it is a law depending on the state.  I&#039;m not sure about 3-way intersections or when biking though - but I think the law applies anywhere there is a stoplight.</description>
